Design & Style
The Tesla Model S has a style that is all its own. It hasn’t changed much from previous editions, but it doesn’t need to. It has a fastback structure with a frame that is sleek and low. It is definitely more futuristic than its competitors but doesn’t overdo it. A flat panel which is rounded can be seen in front, with door handles made from chrome that can extend or retract when needed. The latest edition of the Panamera retains its sexiness. It also has ignition which is keyless, power windows that are one-touch activation, adjustable seats with memory, and connectivity for Wifi and ambient lighting that uses LEDs.
Performance
The Tesla Model S is electric and powered by an engine that produces 193 kilowatts, the equivalent of 259 horsepower. The most powerful version, the P100D, can take the car from zero to sixty in about three seconds. The Porsche Panamera is also extremely powerful, with base models coming with a V6, 3-liter engine that can produce 330 horsepower. The Turbo Edition has a V8 and can go from zero to sixty in around 3 seconds.
The Bottom Line
The Panamera and Tesla Model S are extremely close in terms of performance, safety and interior amenities. Unfortunately for Tesla, it is still a newcomer to the market and has some work to do if it wishes to match the more established Porsche. Access to the back seat of the Model S isn’t that great, nor is the continual updates which change features, so the Porsche Panamera wins.
