2018 Porsche 911 Turbo vs. 2018 Lamborghini Huracan

The 2018 Lamborghini Huracan has been revised with a more powerful engine, a fresh all-wheel drive mechanism and a transmission which is dual clutch and extremely fast. However, it competes against the 2018 Porsche 911 Turbo, a sports car praised for its amazing performance, an extensive selection of powertrains and spectacular interior. Which of the two is best?

Design & Style

The Porsche 911 Turbo has a design which is truly iconic. The taillights in the back have been modified, and the trim within the interior is immaculate. A display can be seen which is multifunctional along with a touchscreen that has a standardized layout. The Huracan, which is the Spanish word for Hurricane, is eye-catching, as Lamborghinis have come to be known for. It has a sleek exterior which displays angular lines that are aerodynamically inspired, along with vents that are aggressive and slightly futuristic. It has an array of intakes and ducts, which are common among models released by this legendary Italian manufacturer.

Technology & Safety

The Lamborghini Huracan is rich in safety features, though it will most likely never be crash tested due to the high costs involved with its manufacturer. It has traction control and three driving modes which are known as Sport, Corsa and Strada, with Strada being designed for maximum safety. The Porsche 911 Turbo, like the Lamborghini, is unlikely to be subjected to crash testing due to its high cost but is also rich in safety features, such as reinforced doors, lots of airbags, and control for traction instability. Within the interior drivers will be greeted to multifunctional screens which are 4.2 inches, touch displays and heated seats that can be power adjusted.

Power and performance are what Porsche and Lamborghini are known for, and both excel in this area. The 911 Turbo is a true touring car, with a 3.8 liter flat 6 engine that is turbocharged and capable of producing a maximum of 580 horsepower. This allows it to go from zero to sixty miles per hour in about three seconds. The Lamborghini Huracan is equipped with a V10, 5.2-liter engine that can produce a maximum of 601 horsepower with 413 pounds of torque. This allows it to go from zero to sixty in about the same time as the Porsche 911 Turbo, which is about three seconds.

The Bottom Line

Choosing between the Lamborghini Huracan and Porsche 911 Turbo is no easy task. Both cars are fast, sexy, diabolically powerful and extremely expensive. Unfortunately for the Huracan, many of those fortunate enough to test drive it have complained about the loud noise it makes, the interior is somewhat plasticky, and there is hardly any room for luggage. When you combine this with the fact that it costs substantially more than the Porsche, without offering much to justify it, the 911 turbo wins.
